Popeye

Popeye, a seasoned veteran that was born and raised in the streets of Southeast San Diego. Growing up in a harsh inner city environment he over came all of his obstacles. Becoming a man early in life he learned to take responsibility for his own actions as he spent most of his time behind bars. Upon his release Popeye vowed to leave the bullshit alone and focus on what was always a hobby to him. So after having numerous run-ins with the law, the West Coast-influenced artist finally decided that it was time to turn his talent and passion for music into something positive. Never being a follower, Popeye has strayed off on his own path not being the conventional rappers, rapper. He has appeared on various mixtapes, compilations, and featured albums that are in circulation. Such as Strictly For The Streets, Paper Route and Turf Politics & War amongst other releases. Popeye is in the process of recording his 7th album, self titled “I Am What I Am” which is shaping up to be one of San Diego’s quality release. He has completed a street record titled “You Never Heard Of Me” [which has sold 80,000 units independently] with a slew of his label mates from Bottomline Records. This release is scheduled for a 2017 release. Be on the look out for it…
